Q&A after the jump!
Pedro Matos, Reality Show Exhibition
Pedro Matos aka DRONE is an young and entirely self taught portuguese artist. He just hosted his solo exhibition at Montana Shop & Gallery in Lisbon last friday, June the 4th. It will be up until June 30. Along with him and taking good care of our ears were DJ Glue and Voodookid aka Rui Louro .
His figurative painting skills are mixed with urban sensibility and his work is specialised in lead, ink. Pedro Matos paints images that depict the individuals he believes are under-appreciated in society, often placing his gritty work on the streets.
Pedro has already exhibited in the internationally renowned Carmichael Gallery in Los Angeles and was recently featured in the Art Stars exhibition.
Once again, the line between street art and fine art is being blurred and Scenario is loving it! More pictures after the jump.
Joana Vasconcelos “Netless” Exhibition.
Until today the Berardo Collection Museum presented “Sem rede” (No Network), the first anthology of exposure Joana Vasconcelos, composed of about 40 works. Produced by the Berardo Collection Museum, and commissioned by Miguel Amado, “No Network” brings together a significant number of works, drawing an overview of the work of Joana Vasconcelos. The exhibition focuses on the production of the last 15 years, including not only the major large-scale works carried out in the last decade, but also various works of the 1990s, many unpublished since their original presentation. “No Network” was, therefore, a unique opportunity to discover or rediscover the extraordinary work of Joana Vasconcelos.
For those who made it and for those who didn´t have a chance, you can now have a quick view of some of her work after the jump.
Os Gemeos, “Pra quem mora lá o céu é lá”, Exhibition at Museu Colecção Berardo, Lisbon.
The transposition of the streetart to the art galleries is not a new thing. Keith Haring or Jean-Michel Basquiat, deceased, or the contemporary Barry McGee and Banksy did it. But the phenomenon has been more frequently verified these days.
The show made two years ago by the most influential contemporary art museum in Europe, Tate Modern, for which Os Gemeos (The Twins) have contributed with a giant mural, has helped a number of credible artists.
Yesterday was the premiere of the exhibition Pra quem mora lá, o céu é lá (for those who live there the sky is there), in the Berardo Museum in Lisbon, from the Brazilian duo Os Gemeos (The Twins). This exhibition was a remarkable moment. For the first time a museum in Portugal hosts an exhibition of an artist come from Graffitti. The museum was completely packed with artists and friends among other people who were just curious to see the exhibition. Joe Berardo even made a special appearance.
Os Gemeos began in the late 80s and now they are wanted by galleries around the world. You may already have passed by some of their creations, on the streets of Berlin, London or New York. They are easy to identify. Usually ethereal scenes with yellow and purple, with innocent eyes, children of flimsy legs and huge heads, inscribed in large murals on vacant buildings. It’s hard not to make such pictorial images. For scale, poetry, and how they interact with its surroundings. They create a mood of romanticism in urban disorder.
In case you don´t know their work check some of the pics we took from the exhibition right after the jump. Enjoy.

Well, take a look for yourselves after the jump and let us know what´s on your mind.
Jillionaire – Has Scenario!
Fabrico Infinito
Scenario loves design and knows the importance of good design, especially nowadays. We are living a cultural revolution, the soldiers are everywhere, we are surrounded by talented people and, unlike before, the battlefield is not just the streets. It is the internet, a gallery, a museum, a studio, the subway, your messy kitchen, wherever. The sky is the limit.
Scenario went for a walk in Principe Real, Lisbon, on a sunny afternoon and found one of the first design stores in the area, Fabrico Infinito. It just amazed us. And we´re not only talking about the wonderful design pieces in the store, it is way more than that. The ability of creating a space that passes on the idea of pureness and exclusivity without being arrogant nor fancy is due to Marcela, the owner, a very nice and interesting lady.
The concept behind the store is the ecological design, which we believe is very important and not overly known and what we actually see in Fabrico Infinito is the ecological matter being translated into very well thought and designed pieces.
At the entrance, in the storefront, they have their manifesto. A very interesting saying that sums up Fabrico Infinito state of mind. It says:
” In Nature nothing is repeated. There aren´t two trees alike. Two birds alike. Two drops of rain alike. Two kisses alike. In Fabrico Infinito also everything is unique and unrepeatable. It won´t come back. Enjoy. And be happy.”
” Na Natureza nada se repete. Não há duas árvores iguais. Dois pássaros iguais. Duas gotas de chuva iguais. Dois beijos iguais. Nesse Fabrico Infinito também tudo é único e irrepetível. Não volta mais. Aproveitem. E sejam felizes.”
Meanwhile, among great design and brilliant people we found more. An awesome Carpacceria where you can have a pleasant gourmet meal and enjoy some delicacies ( We totally recommend their Petit Gateau, it is yummi!) while listening to great music in an exclusive, not pretensious, open area (photos below). Its a very relaxed environment where you can read a book, have a tea with your friends, go to the internet or just lay in one of the chairs and enjoy the sun. What a great surprise.
We were quite curious about the all concept of the space so we asked them some questions, about the name, the atmosphere, the kind of pieces they have, the ecological theme, the ideas behind the concept, the inspiration, etc. and all of our questions were answered brightly. We thought it would be delightful for you readers to enter their world for a bit.
Enjoy and take a look at some pictures of Fabrico Infinito after the jump.
THIS IS NOT GRAFFITTI.
Hi!
Thursday night Scenario had a really good time at Montana Shop, in Bairro Alto, Lisbon. As soon as we entered the shop, to check our friend Aka Corleone exhibition, we got impressed. DJ Glue was in charge of the good music, we met good friends, had a chat while having a drink and it all went very nice and smooth. Those guys really know how to put up an awesome exhibition and entertain people.
Unfortunatly my camera lens stopped focusing while I was taking pictures but well, I think you can have an overall idea by checking them anyways.
The exhibition was a whole lot of fun, we saw many powerful influences in Aka Corleone´s work and the idea of the denial of graffitti coming from a writer was really interesting.
Aka Corleone is a portuguese graphic designer and illustrator and, in this exhibition, he shared his own way to success in 6 steps :
1 . Make your mark on society!
2 . To cross or be crossed…
3 . Once you taste steel you don´t go back.
4 . Be quick or be in jail!
5 . Snitches need stitches!
6 . Become the king and crush toys.
Also…we were totally wowed by his silkscreen artwork, it is just delicious! If you´re around Lisbon these days we recommend you to pass by the shop and get yours before they sell out.
You might also check his website for more information : http://www.akacorleone.com/
